We shouldn't be surprised if Atlanta's rookie goaltender Ondrej Pavelec stands up well to pressure.
Not only did he withstand Tampa Bay's third-period pressure Saturday night in the Thrashers' 6-4 comeback to earn his first NHL victory, but he's already faced off against one of the best players in the world.
Pavelec, the 41st overall pick in the 2005 draft, hails from Kladno, Czech Republic, the same hometown as New York's Jaromir Jagr.
As he signed this card before Saturday's game, I asked Pavelec if he'd ever faced Jagr back in his home country.
"Yeah, a couple times," he said.
How'd you do?
"Not bad," he said. "Not bad."
