Really, I mean this

I'd like to take this time to express my appreciation to those folks kind enough to take part in Hound Central 3.0's latest poll: Who's the worst team in the NHL?

My undying gratitude, however, goes to anyone who picks the Leafs.

Hey, Puckhound, now that Toskala's back, ya gotta excise the Leafs from that poll!

But watching the JFJ "Dead Man Walking" drama is keeping the Toronto scribes busy as heck.

I had a Rangers-to-Leafs conversion experience back in '91; bad timing, you might say. But such is life.

How are them XXII's working out? I bought a pair of the XIV's a couple years back - not real impressed - and then found a pair of the old 6000s at Hockey Giant for $150. One of my better buying decisions.

Yeah, it figures. I try to be a wise guy about the Leafs on a day when they play the Sabres.

As for the XXIIs, I've been limited to wearing them around the house trying to break them in a little.

Hopefully, Colin and I will start skating together in the next week. Family visiting from New England has kept us pretty busy.

As always, thanks for the stopping by.

If you want to break the skates in a bit, what I did was heat mine in an oven (even though mine aren't bakeable in a skate oven, I tried it anyway in a household oven and it worked), 200-300 degrees for 15 minutes, take them out, tie them on tightly, and walk around a while. Repeat as necessary.

I wondered whether that couldn't be done. I might try it. I'd be worried about breaking the warranty. You've seen me, it wouldn't be the first pair of blades I've snapped.
